My paintings tie into the theme of Seafaring through the subjects of my still lifes: objects relevant to rural culture, specifically my hometown of Memramcook in the region overlooking the Chocolate River, and tasks typically fulfilled by women in the 18th century.
Through my work, I draw on the cultural references of the local area and the practices and art forms passed down through the generations by the matriarchs. By focusing on tasks typically performed by women, such as gardening, sewing, cooking, and caring for the home and animals, I draw attention to how the "woman's role" has evolved over time, while at the same time paying homage to them.

Ma peinture explore le thème de Seafaring à travers les sujets de mes natures mortes : des objets liés à la culture rurale, en particulier à ma ville natale de Memramcook, dans la région surplombant la rivière Chocolate, et des tâches typiquement féminines au XVIIIe siècle.
Mon travail puise dans les références culturelles de la région et les pratiques artistiques transmises de génération en génération par les matriarches. En me concentrant sur les tâches généralement accomplies par les femmes, comme le jardinage, la couture, la cuisine et l’entretien de la maison et des animaux, j’attire l’attention sur l’évolution du rôle de la femme au fil du temps, tout en lui rendant hommage.
